My First Trip to the Library

Thursday, February 26, 2009

Well, technically, Mommy's taken me there lots of times ... but that was when I was all nestled in her tummy!! This was my first *real* trip to the library, and I behaved myself very well. Mommy told me that libraries are quiet places ... so I waited till we were back outside before I started crying! =D

Mommy and Daddy helped me pick out my first library book. It's called "Baby Goose" by Kate Mcmullan. After my bath, Mommy read it to me while I ate dinner. Mommy hopes that we can go back again soon and make "Library Days" a special time that we enjoy together!

Here's a slideshow of our little trip!

Visiting Dr. Gina

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Mommy had an appointment on Friday with Dr. Gina, so I got to see her for the first time since we left the hospital in January. I was very excited to see one of the many people who helped Mommy bring me into this world! Granted ... I slept thru it all ...

Thankfully, Mommy took a couple pictures and showed me that I *did* see Dr. Gina! =D But before that picture, here's the first time I met Dr. Gina on my birthday:

And, six weeks later, here we are meeting again:

Thank you, Dr. Gina, for being such a wonderful doctor to my Mommy and me!! =D

Bath Time

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Mommy and Daddy finally busted out my big boy bathtub this past week to give me my first and second big boy baths! I can't really say I like it too much ... that is until Daddy started pouring the water over my chest. He calls this an 'action bath' and I think I can live with that!

Mommy made a slideshow of the pictures, and there's a short video from my second bath as well. She was kind enough to censor out my little boy parts ... which I'm sure I'll thank her for when I'm older. =D

Caught Smilin'

Friday, February 20, 2009

She did it. She got video of me smilin'. Just a little tho ... it wasn't one of my full-blown, smiling-every-minute sessions ... but Mommy's happy she got something. It helped that Daddy was keeping my attention and I wasn't staring at that shiny camera Mommy keeps holding in front of me.

I showed off a few of my other well-known faces: concerned brow and pout. Again, not full-blown versions of either, but I'm just not a performer for the camera!

Crackin' a Smile and Head Control

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Mommy has been dyin' to get a picture or video of my smiling, but she never has a good opportunity to. I just don't like performing on demand, that's all!! She did get close a couple days ago tho ... she snapped the picture at the tail-end of my smile ... so I look like I'm half-grinning.

Eventually Mommy will get her pictures and video of me smiling. I'm doing it a lot more now, too, so she's going to have a lot more opportunities!

Also, I've recently discovered the wonders of head-control. Along with doing tummy time, Daddy practices with me every day (see video below). So my neck muscles are getting stronger and I can hold my head up for a little while when Mommy or Daddy sits me up. I'm starting to make it harder for Mommy and Daddy to burp me on their laps because I'm using my head, neck, and back to 'throw' myself backwards. Next thing Daddy says he'll teach me is how to use my back muscles to stand up!! But he says we have to wait a while for that! =D

One Month Old Today!

Monday, February 9, 2009

Mommy and Daddy can't believe it's been a month already! I'm growing every day tho! Here's me with my buddy Thumper on my one month birthday!

Some new things I've learned:

~ I'm finally smiling! Just a few days before this picture was taken, I gave Mommy my first 'real' smile that wasn't caused by gas! Then a couple days later, I showed Daddy what a little smiler I am!

~ I'm a lot more alert and aware of things. As you can see in the picture above, I was a lot more interested in Thumper this time around! Mommy is going to make me some butterflies to hang on my bassinet. I can't wait to look at them and smile for her!! =D

My Cool Ride

Monday, February 2, 2009

A few weeks ago, Grams, Pop-pop, and Uncle Bud got me a Jeep Cherokee! Now I could ride in style! Unfortunately, it doesn't have a heater, so Mommy and Daddy had to wait for the weather to get a little warmer before we went out for a test drive!

Here's a slideshow of pictures of my first ride in my Jeep, as well as a video of Daddy testing the claim that it's 'all-terrain'.
